Oct 02, 2012 · "Garmin sucks" is perhaps a bit simplistic and harsh, but I sure did loose a lot of faith in the company after my experiences with the eTrex 30. Nothing serious had been going on with my three previous Garmins. As for the eTrex 30, it could have been something, but is really dragged down in the mud by poor and inconsistently working firmware.

Oct 07, 2015 · Garmin products suck. I just got an Edge 810. Spent two hours downloading a map to an SD card. The device cannot locate the map to enable it even though the .img file shows up on the device when connected to the computer.

Nov 20, 2012 · I've been using Garmin products for over 10 years but their customer service sucks as does the fact you have to use Basecamp and their software with unlock codes, etc, etc. I'm now considering much cheaper GPS units from China that cost less than 1 Garmin re-furbish fee.

Garmin Express is an active dumpster fire. It works, and then it doesn't work. It pairs devices and then it won't pair devices. It remembers my devices and then it'll restart the software from scratch and make me add the device all over again.

Jun 19, 2014 · Re Garmin units we have a 60CSx, Oregon 450, three 62S units, an Etrex and a couple others. On the 450 and 62S I bought a little too soon but in a month or so a firmware upgrade took care of my problem. I think Garmin makes a VERY good unit and is currently king of the hill.
